This 4-star spa hotel was opened in 2007 and enjoys a very privileged location, where you can take in the sea breeze as well as the forest's freshness.

Just 400 metres away from the shore, at the beginning of Golden Sands Resort, this exquisite hotel offers you elegant rooms and a wealth of spa facilities for a stay of utmost pleasure and relaxation. For business clients there are 2 up-to-date equipped conference halls with cabins for simultaneous interpretation, one with 70 and the other with 100 seats.

Area information

Golden Sands (Златни пясъци / Zlatni Pyasatsi) is a spa town on the northern Bulgarian Black Sea coast, adjacent to a national park of the same name.

The resort is located 17 km north from the centre of Varna and is virtually connected to the city by a continuous swath of resorts and villa communities. It is a popular tourist destination, drawing many visitors because of its favourable climate, the scenic landscape and the reasonable prices. Golden Sands is served by the Varna International Airport and several regular bus lines of the Varna public transport system.

The resort has more than 80 hotels, many of them are open all year round, numerous villas, apartment buildings, casinos, restaurants, clubs, spa centres, shopping centres, sports facilities including yacht marinas, an equestrian base and the Aquapolis water park.

The area is labelled to have the purest quartz sand on the Black Sea coast. Old trees and landscaped parks are also characteristic to this place. Lush woodlands and hot mineral water springs cascading from the Frangen Plateau and forming the Golden Sands Nature Park, turn the resort town into one of the most popular tourist spots in Eastern Europe.

Great Spa, nice staff, large rooms

Breakfast and dinner were below standard, food from previous day/night found its way to the buffet, a la carte was ok but no effort on breakfast and in room rate included dinner, hotel far away from beach and restaurants. Shuttle service insufficient as it stops at 6pm and was not always available.

Poor breakfast. In the room we had separate beds so i try so i tried to closer them and i found an used condom under the bed. I think was a mistake because in rest everything was clean, and in the bed initial position you couldn't see under the bed. I think the mistake was made in the first place by the client before me, and second by the cleaning personal that they did not search under the beds.

the staff is very polite and good english speaker, the rooms are huge

they say that there are free transport from the hotel to beach according to a timetable, but this was not 100% true. We expect more than 1 our at the meeting point on the beach and then take a cab. At the reception they informed us that the driver had another task to do

The room was very big and the bed extremely comfy, bathroom very big and spotless, excelent pool...and, of course, the spa seemed very nice

Very beautiful hotel with excellent spa facilities! Hotel staff were very polite and helpful. I really emjoyed Japanese massage as well as body therapy. The room was very clean and big enough. When I read comments of others in the website, I found that a couple of people complained about the distance of the beach from the hotel. However, I did not feel so. For me it was 10 - 15 minutes walking.

The ambiance created by the lovely plants inside the hotel. The room was large and comfortable. Food was pretty good.

We didn't like the bartenders from the lobby bar. The shuttle bus to the beach should work later than 18:00.

Large comfortable room, quiet location, quite near to the beach (about 10 minutes on the shortcut)

Breakfast until 10 o'clock, but if you arrived late you had a small selection of things you could eat. Only one main elevator and there were times where you had to wait some time for it to arrive.

The room was lovely. The pool and bar were nice and the hotel had a really nice feel about it. We didn't use the spa but maybe if we had stayed longer. The walk down to the beach was nice and the view from our window was through trees out on to the coast. The 'sky bar' on the top floor was also v. nice although we wouldn't have know about it except for a sign in the lift.

The weekend staff weren't as good as the staff during the week. The outside pool wasn't heated so slightly too cold for the September weather. Hotel dinner was very poor and they, like most people, found it difficult to recommend somewhere good to eat in Golden Sands.
