Arena di Serdica is steps away from main administrative, financial and shopping district, as well as the cultural and historical sights. The Hotel is easily accessible from Sofia International Airport (10 km) and the Central Railway station (4km). The pearl of modern Sofia are the ruins of an ancient amphitheatre, dated from III century, exposed at the ground floor of the hotel. Additionally the hotel offers four multifunctional conference halls for up to 80 persons.

Hotel information

An ancient Roman amphitheatre is appropriately exposed in the grounds of the hotel. Dating back to the 3rd century A. D. It was discovered during the construction works in 2004 and makes the hotel second to none in the world. It combines the spirit of ancient Serdica with all modern facilities for business and relaxation.

The relaxation area is unique. It is in the midst of the ancient walls of the antique amphitheatre of Serdica, emanating calmness and warmth, harmonically complemented by an intimate touch of aromas and gentle effect of the chill-out music.

Food & beverage

Our friendly staff in the "La Tribuna" Bistro, in the "La Terrazza di Serdica" Panoramic View Restaurant, as well as in the "Terra Antica" Lobby Bar greets you with an inviting smile and offers you culinary temptations that can be enjoyed while taking in the view over the archaeological relics of the antique amphitheatre of Serdica. An extensive beverage list makes your dining experience complete.

Enjoy international cuisine and a weekly lunch menu in the nice interior garden.

There is enough space to hold cocktail parties, weddings and other receptions for up to 300 guests.

The History of the Roman foundations. The room service and food was superb.

As a gay couple we found it a bit embarassing that we were questioned about a double room a few times leaving me feel uncomfortable and asking for a twin!

It was great. Fantastic location, lovely hotel, nice staff

If I had to be picky ...... we asked the receptionist to sort out some taxi's to take us to the airport the night before checking out for 10am. When 10:30 rocked round and still no taxi's, the receptionist seemed unconcerned. We cleared off to the main road and sorted our own one. By the way, tell the taxi driver which terminal (we got dumped at T2 when we should have been at T1 over 3km away!

The hotel was well positioned for access to the city centre and was in a quiet if somewhat difficult to find street. Rooms were very clean and staff friendly. Car was taken from me and garaged for security, a good service.

Restaurants lacked atmosphere, however lots of nice retaurants in the city at reasonable rates.

I had to catch an early morning flight - the receptionist arranged to have my breakfast served early so that I would not leave the hotel without it! This was done on her own initiative, I diid not even ask for it!

Staff helpful from arrival in taxi onwards.It is very good that there is a top class restaurant in the hotel. The letter also has a wodnerful position overlooking the city.

Very nice hotel, with a stunning hall over the remains of the old roman arena. Staff was very friendly

The Spa needs a jacuzzi/small pool. For some reason, it takes a while for the hot water to come through

large, clean and well-kept room - everything looks new!, great room service, great hotel restaurant on the 9th floor - great food and service!

you have to wait a long time to get some hot water out of the shower; staff could be more attentive at breakfast - they do not come to you to offer drink, do not ask what you may want, you have to literaly chase them for everything, they do not offer fres juice which one would expect in a 5 star hotel in Sofia. Jaccuzi or a small pool in the wellness center would be good,
